Well, Dawson seems to be at it again. He heard on the Coast-To-Coast AM radio program they were going to be discussing "Time Travel" and so he fired off an eMail to tonight's Host to hopefully help him with his discussion.
Keep in mind Dawson used to be a field service engineer for Siemens in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy and had also been an Air Traffic Control electronic systems Instructor for the Department of Defense and has actually read both the Special & General Theories of Relativity that Einstein based on the Hermann Minkowski Four Dimensional Space-Time-Continuum model.

"The non-mathematician is seized by a mysterious shuddering when he hears of "four-dimensional" things, by feeling not unlike that awakened by thoughts of the occult. And yet there is no more common-place statement than that the world in which we live is a four-dimensional space-time continuum."—-Albert Einstein, Special Theory of Relativity, chapter 17, Minkowski's Four-Dimensional Space

You might want to review this piece to be on top of the problems associated when talking about "Time Travel," especially when people are trying to use the mathematical model as if "Space" exists on a Flat 2-D plane that somehow has giant funnel Black Holes sucking up everything, or flat 2-D Space where "If we could only have enough "Energy" or (Alien) magic Ju-Ju we could fold "Space" like a "3-D" perspective drawing on a 2-D flat piece of paper in Art Class.
If the mathematical model is flawed it doesn't mean the "Theoretical" Physicists' 2 + 2s don't still = 4, on paper while sitting behind their desk. But it does mean all their extrapolated theories will also be just as flawed as the Sun orbiting the Earth. All they've done is moved from being "Flat Earth-ers" to becoming "Flat Space-rs."
All the "math" actually works for the mathematical model of the Sun and the Planets orbiting the Earth as the center of the Universe. It just didn't turn out to be correct. "Looked" obvious though didn't it.
All the digital binary 10 + 10s still = binary 100 (that's 2 + 2 = 4 in decimal) in all movie CGI models or even in CGI TV "physics" programs showing "Space" and Black Holes on a flat 2-D plane. It's perfectly good math that makes CGI demonstrate the impossible.
Just grab a basketball and hold it out in front of you (as if a Star) at arms length and you'll quickly see that the Minkowski 4-D Space-Time Continuum is actually "spherical" around the basketball/star, also above and below it, and the Space extends forever in all directions to fill the "cube volume" of your room. In the 4-D Minkowski Space-Time Continuum Volume of your room it takes "Time" for you to twist your head around and notice the "Space" from the ceiling to the floor.
In just 3-D you would be a frozen statue in "Space." So rotate slowly with the basketball/star out at arms length to simulate the Star moving through 4-D Minkowski Space-Time rotating with its Galaxy. Space-Time is a measurement for locating an object (like different airliners by RADAR) within a "Volume" of "Space."
Now, take your basketball/star (which we'll pretend has to be at least 3 times larger than our Sun for this to happen) and collapse it down to a "Black Hole" the size of a BB pellet. The "Space" in the (room 4-D) Volume surrounding the collapsed Star hasn't changed, except just around the BB. And the gravitational "Event Horizon" of a collapsed Star is spherical all around the BB (also above and below too) just as had been the Gravitational Pull of the "Star/basketball" when it's Mass was less condensed. So now rotate with your "collapsed star/BB" at arms length once around the Volumes of the Minkowski Space-Time Continuum of your room to simulate the BB/Black Hole's movement through Space-Time with its Galaxy.
Actually, there is Minkowski Space-Time between the photons emanating from your computer monitor and your eyes and your reaction time to comprehending this sentence. For some reason people don't get this. I call it the OEO (the Obviously Easily Overlooked). Space-Time is a Volume magnitude (dimension) of measurement, not a line plot on a flat 2-D CGI plane.
