      "Mind your 'p's and 'q's!"

Somebody once told me that meant mind your "pints" and "quarts" of alcoholic beverage or you will get 86'ed (referring to being too drunk from drinking too much 86 proof liquor) from the Pub.

But actually "Mind your 'p's and 'q's is mathematical "Logic."  Or, more properly, minding your 'p's and 'q's is "Trans-position" as the Rule of "Inference" in Deductive Reasoning and "Classical Logic."  So if you are minding your 'p's and 'q's you are "Logically" dotting every "i" inference and crossing every "t" transposition.

Back in the Ancient of Days when I attended the University of Atlantis, our computer (computational) "Truth Tables" for  Boolean Algebra computer logic did not use Ones (1 or Hi) for "Highs (True)" and Zeros (0 or lo) for "Lows (False)."  We didn't even have 0.7volts for a "Hi" or 0.0volts (gnd or "ground") for a "lo" yet, to turn "On" or "Off" solid-state semi-conductor silicon crystal-doped, with carbon, L.E.D.s ( Light Emitting Diodes) in cute little Electronics Course soldering projects–We had Vacuum Tube Diodes and RAM (Random Access Memory) computer programs stored on giant audio tape Reel-to-Reels.  That's why in the old movies you see computer rooms full of these banks of tape Reel-to-Reels starting and stopping (accessing "code" instructions) all the time.  And we were still using some of this ancient technology and slide-rules when we sent Men to the Moon in not much more than flying Tin Cans.

    LOGIC TRUTH TABLES

1 = High; Hi; {1}; One; True; Positive; On; 0.7volts of electricity; p
0 = Low;  lo; {0}; Zero; False; Negative; Off; 0.0volts or gnd and; q

    AND GATE Logic

    1 x 1 = 1    p and p = p
    1 x 0 = 0    p and q = q
    0 x 1 = 0    q and p = q
    0 x 0 = 0    q and q = q

    OR GATE Logic

    1 + 1 = 1    p  or p = p
    1 + 0 = 1    p  or q = p
    0 + 1 = 1    q  or p = p
    0 + 0 = 0    q  or q = q

And every bit of your Higher-level language code writing you use today, which is translated into executable Compiled and/or Assembled program Computer code "Machine Language" that runs your CPU (Central "Processing" Unit), comes down to just those AND & OR GATE and simple variation operations of only about 80 basic Native Code ROM Instructions.

So maybe today we should be saying "Mind your Ones and Zeros," or better yet, "Mind your Highs and Lows."

"Mind your Highs and Lows!"  I like the sound of that, sounds Bi-polar.

Funny how these things happen.  This Group and these Forums and Topics all started out just because I wanted to make a comment, about a comment on another Blog I read earlier today, about how easy it is to over-look the power given us today by the simple software invention of the "link."

And then my mind zipped off on all sorts of tangents including Boolean Algebra and Robot jokes.

So, Hey, join in and tell us some of your Computer & Software musings.

Oh yeah, and here's one of those "links" given to us by "I'm just this guy, you know?" Wil Wheaton:  http://wwebsiteasontheinternet.com/

    INFO WITH A POWERPOINT LINK

Last night on a Talk-Radio program about New Year's Predictions I heard a caller "predict" that after December 22nd, 2012 gets here and the World hasn't blown up that he predicts in 2013 everyone will want a "Mayan Swimsuit Calender."

I wish I could afford to take a bunch of Latino or Indio models and dress them up in Mayan theme slinky bathing suit outfits for a photo shoot and create a "Mayan Swimsuit Calender."

Here's a link for a British "Topless Mayan Calender":
Here's some sort of "Powerpoint" site with create your own Calender page you might want to look at:
Maybe you could use this to make your own 2012 Calender.  I did not see any "Charge$" involved in using this web page as I'm not too familiar with this stuff.  But it looks like maybe "clip-art" with "slides."
One of these days I'll have to learn this Photo Shop stuff.  I bet I've got at least 12 "Indian" theme pics from old magazines I could scan and dummy up in no time to make a satire calender if I knew what I was doing.  I feel like such a Cyber Chyt-fer-Brains!
Here's the C2C Radio program Predictions for 2012, Part I (friday night):
and the C2C Predictions for 2012, Part II (saturday night):
and where to find tonight's C2C program about the "Non-ordinary" on a local Radio Station near you: http://www.coasttocoastam.com/stations
     and
     http://thezodiackiller.digitalzones.com/

So I think the 2011 Caller's prediction was a "Hit."

    {ed. You may see this  "Computer Software" and "Zodiac" information posted elsewhere on this site as it is of some interest to Community Members}

A Special PC Message from Apoadmin

Since "Admin" seems to have defaulted, the weight onto my--Apoadmin's--hunchbacked shoulders, to me to Create most of the Apocalypse & Armageddon Forum topic "Groups" and "Forms," and for some reason Community Members seem to think I should post the first DIY "Topic" for each and every "Forum {and you really can choose these initial Do-It-Yourself Topics yourself folks}" before they seem to want to post, I just wanted to let You know how very much I appreciate your writing efforts when You do post any kind of Comments at all, Whatsoever.

You see, I am Old and Tired and suffer from Depression, and Ancient, having come from Atlantis in the Ancient of Days, before I was kidnapped by NSSARPA and strictly monitored by the real men in black (whom ironically dress like non-descript citizens most of the time when they are observing you).   And I even long long ago, during the last Ice Age, attended the University of Atlantis, which is now some half-mile below the waters of the NW corner of the Caribbean Sea off the Western Guanahabibes Peninsula of the Island of Cuba in the Yucatan Channel across from Cancun, Mexico.

Here are some family vacation photos:

Anyway, being this Ancient, from the Ancient of Days, since the last Ice Age (NSSARPA actually thawed me out from a block of ice from where I had been lost on a climbing expedition to put an Atlantean GPS monitor on top of Mount Chogori--in the Ancient Balti language--or "Savage Mountain" known to you as K2), I just want you Community Members and Guest know that, like Stephen Hawking, I am confined to a psychic disability wheelchair with a DECtalk DTC01 voice synthesizer and must use a long rubber pointer clasped between my teeth to tap each and every key on this keyboard for each and every thing I laboriously write in order to Create these "Groups;" "Forums;" Topics;" and "Comments" just especially for You.

I cannot right now afford the Speech Recognition Kit to use with this voice synthesizer.  And when I refused to let the government men in white lab coats out here at Area-69 stick their computer peripheral device electrodes in my skull, where they can also download my every waking and sleeping and dreaming thoughts, they have cut me off to only my little NSSARPA (National Special Services Advanced Research Projects Agency) pension for ABEs (Ancient Biological Entities).  Luckily Area-69 is still under contract for conjugal visits to a local Nevada brothel, where I must use a Black Projects assumed name of course { this line insert typed in an electromagnetic induction machine code they cannot trace back to my keystrokes, but you can read on your monitor--so if you can make it out there to the Little Feat Bordello near Tonopah when I get to visit, on the 5th of every month, you will recognize me by my wheelchair and voice synthesizer and you can help me to escape again; rent a van with wheelchair accessibility and use the tradecraft phrase,"Boy does she look like she likes to use a Japanese strap-on Steely Dan while consuming her Naked Lunch," so I will recognize you}.

So just realize in this Special Message from the Apocalypse & Armageddon Admin Staff that we do put a lot of effort into Our Forum especially with You in mind, and We cherish each and every Post and Comment You can bless Us with.

    Sincerely,
    Apoadmin

    Addendum To My Above Post:

Also C2C had a follow-up show with Professional Psychics as Predictions Special 2012 that I want to add so we can check back on their predictions "For the Record":

and C2Cs Professional Psychics Predictions Special 2012 (sunday night) "For the Record":

And since we are over in the "Computers Forum" some software glitch would not allow me to "edit" the above Post and put my above cut & paste in that post.  Strange!
